What a stressful day Saturday was... and i have to say it was rather expensive too! I managed to find a boat and i managed to get a refund it just didnt cover the costs of the other boat. I know if maybe i kicked off more or whatever the company would have had to pay for their mistake but all i cared about was being able to do the trip before i left Oz and now i have. So 2 hours after booking the trip i was packed and at the briefing meeting. Id meet a girl from Halifax on the bus to Airlie 2 days before and Judy was on my boat which was nice and the 2 girls who was in my room at the YHA the night before was on the larger boat. Lauren and Sarah were definately shocked to see me thats for sure!
I was on the smaller boat, Kora with 34 others. Not long after setting sail i meet Kelly, Chris and Emma and i spent most of the trip with them. Kellys your typical dizzy blonde (from just outside leeds area i think she said)...proper Barbie girl and has been travelling for a few weeks by herself. Her fella live in Brisbane and she was just seeing the east coast solo. Chris has been living in aderlade for 8 months before realising how dull the place actually is! Hes from Grimsby before he moved out here. It was so funny coz me and Kelly just assumed he was our age coz he doesnt look any older and hes 27! So it was safe to say he got a lot of stick from me from then on. Great guy though and hes travelling down from Cairns solo. Emmas from Southport and has been travelling solo for quite a while. We were exchanging tips to keeping yourself entertained when your on your own. Anyway it helped and after id calmed down and just dealt with the extra expense i just thought sod it...just enjoy it thats what ive paid to do. The resort was gorgeous...we were at the side of the resort out of the way from the other residences which our own bar etc. But we could use the facilities etc which was great. While everyone else was playing drinking games etc in the bar...me, Kelly and Chris headed for the Hot tub and spent most of the evening there listening to a lady perform to the guests in the resort bar. It was so nice and so chilled out and so not backpacking...the only things which would have made it was a real towel. That something i really miss! (Sad i know)
The weather wasnt the best on the trip, Sunday wasnt bad. Well i didnt think so but before we reached our first stop, at least 6 people on our boat werent well due to the waves, weather and mainly i think the hangovers! Glad i only had my free drink with me dinner...no way youd get me on a boat hungover! I did catch the sun thought but Monday was so gorgeous... and just lying out on the deck was perfect! Every good trip well worth the stress!
Just chilling out in the sun for the next few days before heading to Sydney on Thursday night. and guess who i walked into today....Felicity! Bet she didnt expect to see me again when she left the hostel in Broome without saying bye! Its a small world i guess. Lauren and Sarah are here and flying to Sydney with me on Thursday night which will be good, and Chris and Emma are around until tomorrow. Im meeting them at cold rock (awesome ice cream!) after Chris's sky dive later.
Big kiss! xxx
