From Melbourn to Perth

After Gaz left on the 31st March i was straight back on the road and on the over night bus from Sydney to Melbourne. That was a very long and difficult bus ride and the Sunday was a very long day.
I checked into my hostel at about 8am and spoke to Gaz who was still on his 12 hour stop over in Kula Lumpa to let him know i was ok and arrived in Melbourne etc with no problems. I got adopted by one of the girls in my room, Gemma who said she was going to the markets at St Kilda if i wanted to join her...i knew i had to get straight by into travelling alone so decided to join her and so glad i did we had such a great laugh. The trams around the centre of Melbourne are all free and there was a race for something event happening on the Sunday morning which messed up all the tram services. As a result me and Gemma jumped on a tram going totally the wrong direction and it took us twice as long to get to St Kilda. We had a little look at the markets down the main strip and Gemma wanted to go on "the worlds oldest roller coaster" which she believed was at Luna park. Just before we got to the park thought there was a street entertainer who was performing and was really funny...even more so when he pulled Gemma out of the crowds gave her a bright pink wig and made her and 2 other guys dance like they were in ... is the film called night fever... Saturday night??? You know what i mean anyway...70s style. It was so so funny i was wetting myself, and someone Gemma had meet on another trip down the Great Ocean Road spotted her dancing to and joined us for lunch and recommended the best ice cream and strawberries ever!

Monday nights in Melbourne is Neighbours night and there was no way i was missing that chance as i was only planning on being in town a few days. I spent the day with Sanae the Japanese girl id meet months before in Bryon Bay who lives with her boyfriend near Sorrento right on the Mornington Peninsula. We went to this amazing Chinese that just brought baskets to the table and you would just pick what you wanted... Sanae choice everything for us and it was gorgeous. It was great seeing her and she was saying how i must go and see her in Japan at the ski resort she lives at just north of Tokyo.

The Neighbours night was really good, apprently the cast were on strike so we had the Fletch...Karl Kennedy and his band performing, Kim Valentine who used to play Libby Kennedy so sung for us too, Mark... something who used to play Darcy and the lovely Natalie, whos just come back into the show on the Australian screens for a fews weeks as Izzy with Karls Baby, so it was a real Kennedy affair. The format wasnt what i expected and knew had happend before from people i know who have been but we still had a good laugh, i meet a couple who were doing the Ramsey Street tour with me on Wednesday and Fletchs band were really good. Natalie really suprised me though coz she was really shy, apprently she hadnt done many Neighbours night but you'd expect with the fame shes got from Rouge Traders she'd be used to fans etc. It was a really good night anyway.

Wednesday before my flight to Perth i did the Neighbours tour got to go to Ramsey Street and we meet the gorgeous Dan who plays Ned Parker! We were also told that on Easter Monday the street would be closed to film a bus exploding...how you get a bus on Ramsey Street god only knows but they'd had a Helicopter there a couple of weeks before hand for Janelles wedding and leaving scene.

So ive spend the past week exploring Perth City and arrived at Vickys parents place yesterday. I got on the city tour bus which is the easiest way to see the city and with the lovely assitance of Peter the bus driver i got to see the gorgeous Kings Park, Perth Mint, the Swan Bell Tower, Western Australia Museum, The Burswood Casio, the barracks archway and loads of other lovely places and the bets bit was the gorgeous weather over Easter weekend. Like i said im at Vickys parents, they are so lovely taking me and welcoming me the way they have. They live on this fairly new estate called Settlers Hill which is only 10 minutes from the coast and Rockingham. They took me out to dinner last night at one of Vickys favourite place, Betty Blues and we rang her to let her know where we were. Mike and Kath have been great since ive arrived and Kath says i can stay as long as i like, theyre taking me to the wineries this weekend which should be great and Vickys sister, Kate has given me her car so i can see the area. Ive been up to Penguin Island this morning and saw the penguins obviously and spotted a seal and some dolphins which was gorgeous.

Anyway ill speak to you all soon and im still trying to sort my photos out...will up date them asap.

Love you xxx
